Private Mental Health Practice | BallaratClear Thinking Mental Health Group is seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MHNP) or candidate to join our two established private mental health practices in Ballarat.

This is an opportunity for an experienced clinician who enjoys working therapeutically with adults and or adolescents and is looking for a supportive, collaborative private practice environment and a long-term employment/contractor opportunity.

About the roleThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment to adults presenting with a broad range of psychological and psychiatric conditions.

The role has a strong emphasis on high-quality counselling and therapeutic intervention, alongside comprehensive mental health assessment, clinical formulation and medication management.

Key responsibilities will include

· Providing high-quality counselling and psychological therapeutic interventions within your scope of practice

· Supporting adults experiencing a range of psychological and psychiatric conditions

· Prescribing and reviewing medication within your scope of practice and relevant prescribing authority

· Monitoring treatment response, medication efficacy and potential adverse effects

· Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families where appropriate

· Liaising with GPs, psychologists, psychiatrists and other health professionals as required

· Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation and meeting all professional and regulatory requirements

· Working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team

· Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and clinical risk assessments

· Developing collaborative treatment and management plans with clients

About youWe are looking for an experienced MHNP who has:

· Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA

· Appropriate mental health nursing and nurse practitioner qualifications





· Experience working with adults across a range of mental health presentations

· Strong clinical assessment, formulation and risk-assessment skills

· Excellent counselling and therapeutic communication skills

· Confidence working autonomously and making sound clinical decisions

· Appropriate prescribing experience and demonstrated understanding of medication management - support will be available

· A warm, person-centred and recovery-focused approach

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· A commitment to evidence-based, ethical and high-quality mental health care
