Sarkaria Autozone is seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Motor Mechanics to join our team in Truganina, Victoria. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair work while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
● Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in a wide range of vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical tools
● Carrying out repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and steering components
● Conducting routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general vehicle inspections
● Dismantling and reassembling vehicle components and engines as required
● Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair to ensure proper performance and safety
● Performing scheduled maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer specifications
● Inspecting vehicles to identify wear and damage and recommending appropriate repairs
● Ensuring all work complies with workplace health and safety regulations and industry standards
● Maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service schedules
● Ordering and managing spare parts and workshop supplies as required
● Keeping the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
● Communicating effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues, repair timelines, and costs
● Assisting in training and mentoring junior mechanics or apprentices when required
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
● Hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
● Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic
● Robust knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques
● Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment effectively
● Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
● Ability to work independently and in a team environment
● Good communication and organisational skills
● Valid driver’s licence (preferred)
● Availability to work flexible hours if required
● Commitment to long-term employment
