Shaumet Music Academy is a growing music school located in Chatswood, dedicated to providing high-quality music education to the local community.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking professional, passionate, and reliable Music Teachers to join our team in the following teaching areas:

- Flute
- Piano
- Violin
- Drums
- Vocal
- Cello

We are recruiting teachers for separate teaching positions across these instruments and vocal disciplines. Applicants are welcome to apply for the area that matches their primary specialisation. Teachers who are qualified and experienced in teaching more than one instrument or discipline are highly regarded, but this is not a requirement.

Candidates with experience teaching the AMEB syllabus will be given priority. We also value teachers who are confident in providing both one-to-one and group lessons.

Responsibilities

- Teach students of different ages and skill levels in one-to-one and/or group settings.
- Develop personalised lesson plans based on each student’s level, interests, and goals.
- Motivate and inspire students to develop their musical skills and confidence.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare students for AMEB examinations, performances, auditions, and other music-related activities where applicable.
- Encourage students to participate in concerts, ensembles, and group activities.
- Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.

Teaching Responsibilities Depending on your area of specialisation, you will:
- Teach appropriate instrumental or vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, rhythm, and repertoire.




- Introduce students to a variety of musical styles and genres.
- Incorporate the AMEB syllabus into lessons where appropriate.
- Help students develop strong technical foundations, musical expression, and performance skills.
- Prepare students for examinations, recitals, concerts, competitions, and other performance opportunities.

RequirementsExperience
- Previous music teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching the AMEB syllabus is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate, enthusiastic, patient, and committed to music education.

Skills and Attributes
- Ability to engage and inspire students in a positive and encouraging way.
- Strong knowledge of your primary instrument or vocal specialisation.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit students of different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
- A genuine passion for music and helping students develop long-term enjoyment of music.
- Professional, responsible, punctual, and reliable.
- Ability to teach additional instruments or disciplines is an advantage, but not essential.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Education, Performance, or a related field is preferred.

Licence / Certification
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required.

Working Rights
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
