About you A Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) is a registered nurse who is undertaking an accredited university Nurse Practitioner Master level program leading to endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia,
and who is employed as a Nurse Grade 7 in a specific Nurse Practitioner Candidate position. The NPC further develops their advanced skills and knowledge to the extended clinical practice standards of an NP under the immediate clinical supervision (whether direct or indirect) of an NP or medical officer. This role will provide clinical expertise, education and consultancy to patients within the Paediatric Diabetes Service under mentorship and within the Nurse Practitioner Candidate's scope of practice, utilising researched based practice to provide contemporary primary health care and chronic disease management to improve patient outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is mandatory. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- This position requires the incumbent to be enrolled in a Master of Nurse Practitioner course (or equivalent)
and maintain passing grades during employment within the NPC position. Periodic requests for copies of academic transcripts may be required during employment within the NPC position.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
