About the Role

This combined role maintains an occupational therapy caseload while supporting the day-to-day coordination, quality and consistency of allied health service delivery.

You will provide person-centered assessment, intervention, case management and advice to older people and people with disability, including functional assessment, home safety, equipment and home-modification recommendations.

As Allied Health Lead, you will support referral prioritisation, clinical communication, supervision and safe delegation to Allied Health Assistants. You will help the team maintain high-quality records, safe practice and positive client outcomes while escalating significant risks or service pressures to the relevant manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete occupational therapy assessments in clients' homes and community settings
- Develop practical, person-centered intervention plans that support independence, safety and participation
- Assess equipment and minor or major home-modification needs
- Prepare clear clinical reports, diagrams, specifications and justifications
- Manage an agreed caseload and coordinate referrals, reviews and follow-up
- Work collaboratively with clients, carers, health professionals, community providers and trades staff
- Coordinate day-to-day allied health referrals, priorities and team communication
- Provide clinical guidance, case consultation and structured supervision within professional competence
- Delegate appropriate activities to Allied Health Assistants and ensure clear plans, competence, review and escalation arrangements
- Provide clinical oversight of relevant group programs and community-based allied health activities
- Maintain accurate clinical records, service data and billing information
- Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation, incident review and clinical-risk management





About You You will be an experienced and collaborative Occupational Therapist who combines sound clinical judgement with a practical and approachable leadership style.

You will be comfortable balancing a clinical caseload with team coordination, providing guidance and supervision within your professional scope, and working collaboratively with clients, colleagues and service partners.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate

- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated senior occupational therapy experience, including complex clinical decision-making, service coordination and supervision.
- Experience supporting older people, people with disability and/or clients with complex needs in community or home-based settings
- Demonstrated experience in functional assessment, home safety, equipment prescription and home-modification recommendations.
- Experience preparing high-quality clinical reports, diagrams, specifications and supporting clinical justifications.
- Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary allied health services, including operational leadership, skilled supervision and team capability development.
- Sound understanding of delegation, supervision and competency requirements for Allied Health Assistants.
- Strong knowledge of person-centered practice, clinical governance, safeguarding, privacy, work health and safety and quality requirements relevant to community allied health services.
- Strong clinical reasoning, risk assessment, caseload management,



prioritisation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to maintain qualified boundaries, confidentiality and discipline-specific scope of practice, and appropriately escalate matters outside the role's competence or authority.
- A current driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle for work-related travel
- Current NDISWS or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
