Our Physio Co is looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience in home modifications to join our growing allied health team in Tasmania.
If you are interested in building your skills in Home Modifications Focus, we will support your training.
This is a flexible and autonomous role working primarily across community and aged care, supporting older people to remain safe, independent and confident in their own homes.

The Role You will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to older people living in the community, with a particular focus on home safety, accessibility, independence and home modifications.
Your work may include
- Home environment and functional assessments
- Home modification assessments and recommendations
- Minor and major home modification recommendations
- Falls prevention and home safety assessments
- Equipment and assistive technology prescription
- Functional capacity and activities of daily living assessments
- Supporting clients to maintain independence at home
- Reablement and restorative care
- Liaison with builders, trades, suppliers, care managers and other health professionals
- Preparation of reports, recommendations and supporting documentation
- Clinical documentation and care planning
The role provides considerable autonomy, while still having the support, referrals and resources of an established allied health organisation behind you.
About You
You will be an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist who is comfortable working independently in the community and enjoys finding practical solutions that help older people remain safely at home. Experience and confidence in home modification assessments is particularly important for this role.
You will need
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience with home modifications and environmental assessments ideal
- Current driver's licence
- Strong assessment, report writing and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously across community settings
- A commitment to high-quality, person-centred care
Experience in aged care, community care, Support at Home or similar settings will be highly regarded.
