Operating Model Consultant

Join a technology consultancy's business strategy practice to lead an operating model assessment for a major Australian enterprise client, running alongside a cloud and AI programme.

What you'll be doing

You will establish current state through stakeholder interviews and facilitated workshops, then co-design the target state with the consultancy's technology team and a separate organisational change consultant. It concludes with recommendations and a sequenced roadmap for the organisation to execute.

The assessment covers how the business operates today: roles and accountabilities, governance, decision rights, ways of working, how performance is measured, and how technology enables it.

What you'll bring

- Operating model design across a range of organisations and problem types, ideally from assessment through to implementation
- The ability to work at a strategic level and translate complex findings into a clear executive narrative




- The confidence to hold your position with senior business and technology stakeholders, and to keep the operating model weighted appropriately on a programme with an active technical workstream
- A cooperative approach, drawing evidence from delivery teams and working alongside a change consultant in an adjacent lane
- Deep cloud or AI expertise isn't required, but you will need enough technology fluency to engage credibly with technical stakeholders

Contract term and structure Month 1: full time;

Months 2 to 5: approximately 2.5 days per week

Potential extension or permanent conversion, depending on further work being won.

Location

Remote, with no onsite requirement at this stage. Sydney preferred, however open to candidates in Melbourne and Brisbane.
