An outstanding opportunity exists for an operationally driven superintendent to take on the role of Operations Manager to lead and shape a growing civil utilities business in South Australia for the construction of water and sewer reticulation and infrastructure across urban developments and capital infrastructure projects.

Our client is also part of a leading national civil construction group, with a differentiated market presence in South Australia and the East Coast through its vertical integration and self-performing capabilities; large-scale earthmoving plant and a dominant position in urban development and civil infrastructure.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager SA, you will lead the day-to-day operations, work alongside the Engineers, Site Supervisors and Field Crews to ensure projects are properly resourced, safely delivered and commercially controlled across a diverse portfolio of urban developments.

We are continuing to expand our civil utilities capability and invest in our people, plant, systems and leadership. This creates an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to help shape how the division grows and performs.

Key Responsibilities

· Leading the day-to-day operations for the construction of water and sewer projects.

· Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors across multiple projects.

· Monitoring productivity, variations, project risks, budgets and margin performance.

· Providing operational input into methodologies, programs, tenders and mobilisation plans.





· Identifying underperforming projects and coordinating practical recovery actions.

· Lead crews and subcontractors to hit safety, quality and program targets.

· Drive a strong safety culture and Zero Harm mindset.

· Manage client and community stakeholder relationships onsite.

Success in your first 12 months

· Strengthening operational planning and accountability.

· Building supervisor and field leadership capability.

· Improving workforce, plant and project visibility.

· Supporting consistent safety, quality and commercial performance.

· Establishing scalable systems to support the division’s continued growth.

About you

· Operational leadership experience in civil utilities, particularly water and sewer.

· Experience leading multiple crews and project

· Sound commercial understanding, including budgets, productivity, variations and project risk.

· Demonstrated workforce planning and people-leadership capability.

· Strong safety, quality and client-facing capabilities.

· Transparent, practical and respectful leadership.
