Silverstone is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day haulage operations for an established mining and transport business in the goldfields, WA.

Working back-to-back with the Haulage Manager and reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of the company’s haulage operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing MC drivers, site administration, dispatch, fleet performance and maintenance personnel. You will also work closely with clients and suppliers to ensure contractual volumes, schedules and service levels are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the daily delivery of site-based haulage operations
- Lead and support the Haulage Manager, MC drivers, administration and maintenance teams
- Coordinate driver rosters, dispatch requirements and operational resources
- Monitor fleet availability and maintenance scheduling
- Manage client contracts, haulage volumes, schedules and service levels
- Monitor operational costs, budgets and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility and fatigue-management requirements
- Maintain high standards across safety, quality and operational performance
- Manage incidents, investigations and corrective actions
- Identify operational risks and implement practical improvements
- Recruit, induct, train and develop operational personnel
- Build strong working relationships with clients, employees and suppliers
- Prepare regular operational performance reports for senior management

About You To be successful, you will have:

- Several years’ experience managing mining,



bulk haulage or heavy-vehicle transport operations
- Previous leadership experience managing drivers and operational personnel
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, dispatch and maintenance scheduling
- Experience managing client contracts, operational volumes and service levels
- Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and heavy-vehicle fatigue management
- Experience managing budgets and fleet-related operational costs
- A robust understanding of WHS requirements within transport, logistics or resources
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during breakdowns, incidents and scheduling changes
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills
- Competency with Microsoft Office and fleet or logistics management systems
- The flexibility and resilience required to work in a remote, site-based environment

Licences and Qualifications:

- Current Australian C Class Driver’s Licence
- Current White Card
- Chain of Responsibility training
- Heavy-vehicle fatigue-management accreditation
- HR or MC Driver’s Licence highly regarded
- Qualifications in logistics, transport, business or project management are desirable but not essential
