More than half of Queensland’s international trade, by volume, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay, and Hay Point, which makes us one of Queensland’s largest Port Authorities. We take great care to provide safe, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Port Operations, the Operations and Security Administrator is the first point of contact for the Operations Team, providing administration, front counter and customer service support across various functions.

Day to day you will respond to enquiries, coordinate service requests, maintain records, facilitate the issuing of Port passes and assist port users, contractors and visitors with port access requirements, working to established procedures with support and training provided.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Demonstrated experience providing front counter or customer-facing support, including responding to enquiries, coordinating service requests and assisting stakeholders to navigate processes and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in administration and customer service roles,



including the effective use of administration systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality when dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, control workflow and to organise work tasks to meet deadlines and achieve quality work outcomes.
- Eligibility to obtain and hold the relevant maritime identification cards, licences and authorised officer appointments required for the role.

Desirable

- Certificate of Business Administration (or similar) or relevant experience.
- Exposure to maritime or port operations, emergency management or security requirements is welcome, though not essential — we will support you to build this knowledge in the role.
