ST PETERS CRASH REPAIRS is seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join our team on a full-time basis at our Stepney location. This role is central to our operations, as you will be responsible for restoring damaged vehicle bodywork to the highest standards. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial part in delivering quality repairs that meet both customer expectations and industry standards, whilst maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive repair services.
What you'll be doing
- Assessing vehicle damage and determining the most effective repair approach
- Using specialised tools and equipment to remove dents, creases and damage from vehicle panels
- Straightening and reshaping damaged metal components to restore original dimensions
- Preparing vehicle surfaces for painting by filling, sanding and smoothing damaged areas
- Welding and joining panels where necessary to ensure structural integrity
- Collaborating with other team members, including spray painters and mechanics, to ensure seamless repair completion
- Maintaining accurate work records and documentation for each repair job
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and workshop procedures at all times
- Performing quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met
What we're looking for
- A recognised apprenticeship or formal qualification in panel beating or automotive body repairs
- Proven experience working as a Panel Beater in a professional repair workshop environment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and specialised panel beating equipment
- Solid knowledge of vehicle bodywork repair techniques, including dent removal and panel straightening
- Experience with welding and panel joining methods
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs
- The ability to work methodically and safely, following health and safety guidelines
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently when required
- Familiarity with modern vehicle materials and repair standards would be advantageous
