Hours: Part-time, mornings
Days: Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings
Qualification: Bachelor of Education required

Teach Differently. Prepare Children for Life.
Neurodiverse Playhouse is a neurodivergent-affirming, play-based hub with a special focus on preparing children for life.
We are looking for a passionate and creative Teacher with a Bachelor of Education who has a special interest in inclusive education, neurodiversity and Prep readiness.
Based at our Spring Hill Playhouse, you'll work with young children individually and in small groups as they develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to transition into Prep and participate successfully in a school environment.
Our Playhouse includes both indoor and outdoor learning spaces, allowing learning to happen through play, movement, creativity and real-world experiences rather than relying solely on traditional classroom methods.
About the Role
This is a part-time morning position working with children who may be preparing for their first year of school or developing the foundational skills they need to thrive in a classroom.
You'll provide individualised and small-group learning experiences focusing on:
- Prep and school readiness
- Early literacy and numeracy
- Pre-writing and handwriting skills
- Fine motor and classroom skills
- Following routines and transitions
- Listening, attention and participation
- Communication and social learning
- Developing independence with everyday tasks
- Organisation and task completion
- Learning through play
- Building confidence in new environments
- Developing the skills needed to participate in a classroom
- Supporting children to understand and navigate school routines
We don't believe children need to sit still at a desk to learn. Our approach is about meeting children where they are, identifying their strengths and interests, and creating learning experiences that allow them to engage, move, explore and develop skills in ways that work for them.
What Does Prep Readiness Look Like?
Your morning at the Playhouse might include:
Learning outside in our outdoor spaces
Developing pre-writing and handwriting skills
Reading and early literacy activities
Play-based numeracy
Creative learning experiences
Puzzles, construction and problem-solving
Movement and learning breaks
Practising school routines and independence
Small-group social learning
Supporting regulation and transitions The goal isn't simply to prepare children to sit still and follow instructions.
It's about helping children develop the skills, confidence, communication and independence to feel capable when they enter the school environment.
About You
We're looking for a teacher who:
- Holds a Bachelor of Education
- Has a current Blue Card or is eligible to obtain one
- Has a genuine interest in inclusive education and neurodiversity
- Is warm, patient, creative and encouraging
- Enjoys working with young children
- Understands that children learn in different ways
- Can adapt teaching strategies to individual strengths, interests and needs
- Is passionate about school readiness and early learning
- Values play, movement and connection as part of learning
- Wants children to feel capable, confident and accepted
- Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience working with autistic children, children with ADHD or other neurodivergent learners is highly regarded. Early childhood or Prep teaching experience will also be highly regarded.
Why Neurodiverse Playhouse?
You'll work in a unique multidisciplinary setting alongside professionals including occupational therapists, exercise physiologists and podiatrists.
You'll have the opportunity to develop your understanding of neurodivergent children while working in a warm, purpose-built environment designed around:
Connection. Play. Movement. Learning.
We are passionate about creating an environment where children don't have to mask or change who they are in order to learn.
Instead, we adapt the environment and our teaching approaches to help each child learn in the way that works best for them.
