The Opportunity

Based at SkinKandy HQ in Maroochydore on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand, while helping shape the foundations of a global payroll function as SkinKandy expands internationally. This is not a role where you simply inherit an established global payroll structure. You'll have the opportunity to build it.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee payroll operations, manage outsourced payroll providers, ensure legislative and award compliance, and partner closely with our People, Finance and Operations teams to deliver a payroll function that is accurate, scalable and fit for a rapidly growing global business.

As SkinKandy enters new international markets, this role has a clear opportunity to grow in scope and responsibility, with the potential to progress as we expand.

What You'll Own

Payroll Management

- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand.
- Manage outsourced payroll providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance and service delivery.
- Act as the key internal point of contact for payroll matters across the business.
- Ensure payroll processes are scalable and capable of supporting SkinKandy's continued international growth.
- Support the transition and implementation of payroll solutions as SkinKandy enters new international markets.

Award Interpretation & Compliance

- Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, awards and employment conditions.




- Interpret and apply the relevant awards including General Retail Industry Award (GRIA), particularly across a large casual, shift-based workforce.
- Partner with HR, Finance and external legal and payroll specialists to identify and resolve compliance risks.
- Maintain strong payroll governance and controls across all markets.

Stakeholder & Provider Management

- Build strong relationships with outsourced payroll providers and hold them accountable for service, accuracy and compliance.
- Partner closely with People, Finance, Compliance and Operations to continuously improve the employee payroll experience.
- Provide clear, practical payroll advice to leaders and key stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, controls and reporting.
- Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
- Help shape the future operating model for SkinKandy's payroll function as the business scales globally.

Reporting & Analysis

- Prepare regular payroll, headcount and cost reporting.
- Support Finance with payroll forecasting, analysis and reconciliation.
- Ensure payroll processes are audit-ready and supported by appropriate controls and documentation.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a senior payroll professional who combines technical expertise with the commercial mindset to build and evolve a payroll function.

You will ideally bring

- 10+ years' proven payroll experience, including significant experience managing complex payroll environments.
- Strong experience managing payroll across Australia and New Zealand.
- Experience managing outsourced payroll providers and holding external partners accountable for delivery.
- Experience working with a large, predominantly casual and shift-based workforce,



ideally within retail or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation.
- Demonstrated experience with the General Retail Industry Award (GRIA).
- Experience supporting or implementing payroll solutions in new countries or markets.
- International payroll experience across South Africa, USA and/or UK will be highly regarded.
- Strong systems, analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of payroll risk and compliance.
- The ability to work collaboratively across Finance, People, Operations and external providers.
- A genuine interest in building something scalable, rather than simply maintaining the status quo.

Based at SkinKandy HQ in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, you'll work alongside our Finance, People and Operations teams in a collaborative office environment. This role is office-based, with daily collaboration across our operational, HR and Finance functions being an important part of the position.
