Hero Calling | Senior Accountant | Temp-to-Perm

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established ASX-listed engineering and mining services organisation seeking a technically strong Senior Accountant to support its finance function through a busy reporting period.

This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail across month-end, statutory reporting, reconciliations, audit support and multi-entity accounting.

About the Role:

Reporting into the Financial Reporting Manager, this position will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial reporting function across a complex multi-entity setting.

You will be responsible for delivering accurate month-end reporting, maintaining balance sheet integrity, assisting with statutory reporting and audit requirements, and providing broader technical accounting support across the finance team.

This is a genuinely hands-on Senior Accountant role rather than a people-management position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly financial and management reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare journals, accruals and provisions.
- Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.




- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Support multi-entity reporting and consolidations.
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare audit workpapers and support external audit.
- Maintain fixed asset and CAPEX accounting.
- Support WIP and project accounting.
- Assist with BAS and compliance requirements where needed.
- Investigate accounting variances and reporting issues.
- Support continuous improvement across financial reporting processes and controls.

Short but Sweet:

We are seeking a technically strong accountant with:

- Strong Senior Accountant or Financial Accountant experience.
- CA, CPA or CIMA qualification preferred.
- Excellent month-end and year-end capability.
- Experience across statutory reporting, consolidations and audit.
- Strong balance sheet and GL reconciliation experience.
- Exposure to multi-entity environments.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards.
- Advanced Excel and strong ERP systems capability.
- JD Edwards experience highly regarded.
- Previous mining, engineering, construction, resources or project-based experience highly regarded.
- The ability to operate independently while working collaboratively within a wider finance team.
