The Plumbing Section is seeking a motivated Administration Officer to join the team and provide high-quality administrative and frontline customer service support. This is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting the Plumbing Section's day-to-day operations and contributing to the delivery of its business priorities.
About the role
In this role, you will provide accurate and efficient administrative support to the Plumbing Section within the Community Sustainability Directorate to assist in the implementation and achievement of the relevant Business Plans.
To provide high quality frontline customer service as an integral part of the overall delivery of services provided by the Development Services branch within the Community Sustainability Directorate.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing timely and accurate administrative and project support to meet Branch priorities.
- Delivering professional and responsive frontline customer service in person, over the phone and electronically.
- Maintaining accurate building and plumbing records, including application registration, inspection tracking, correspondence and file management.
- Responding to enquiries, resolving administrative issues and identifying practical solutions.
- Retrieving and analysing information from multiple databases to provide accurate and timely responses.
- Developing positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Working collaboratively with the team while managing your own workload and competing priorities.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering excellent customer service. You will have:
- Deliver timely and accurate administration functions to meet the business needs of the Plumbing section and wider Development Services branch within the Community Sustainability Directorate.
- Provide quality frontline customer service representing Council and the Directorate in a positive and professional manner.
- Contribute to the daily operations of the Plumbing section responding courteously and efficiently to enquiries received in person, by telephone, or electronically via email or other means.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of plumbing related records for applications, including registration, tracking inspection results, generating correspondence, and generally monitoring progress for associated electronic and physical files.
- Resolve administrative problems, identify solutions and provide information by answering questions and requests by retrieving and analysing data from multiple databases.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- A current Queensland C Class driver’s licence.
Desirable experience
Experience in a building and/or plumbing certification environment would be highly regarded, along with:
- Demonstrated experience providing administration and project support in a building and/or plumbing certification environment.
- Sound understanding of records management requirements, land information systems and database management.
- Certificate 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications
