About the team
Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Customer Service is the key provider of spatial land information services in New South Wales. Spatial Services' integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of land and property services including property information, surveying and mapping. Spatial Services provides land information services to individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations throughout NSW, Australia and internationally.
About the role
As a Geodetic Surveyor you will be responsible for the collection, processing, integration, and delivery of survey control data. You will support the establishment and maintenance of survey control infrastructure and coordinate reference frames as part of the statutory functions of the Surveyor-General. You will engage with users of survey infrastructure to provide expert technical and policy advice on matters related to survey control design, observation methodologies, processing techniques, POSI and cadastral boundary surveys.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven ability to lead survey parties
- Demonstrated experience as a surveyor with knowledge of cadastral, geodetic surveying and current positioning technologies
- The ability to implement and monitor compliance with Work Health and Safety policy and practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to represent OSG at industry forums and events
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable to both a changing environment as well as priorities
- The ability to solve problems and collaborate with others toward a common vision

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $116,981 base plus superannuation
