The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Piping Supervisor to oversee piping installation, construction, and maintenance activities on a major mining project in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising piping crews and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and construction schedules. This role is suited to an experienced piping professional with a robust background in mining, etc.
The Role
- Supervise and coordinate piping installation, fabrication, and construction activities on mining projects.
- Lead piping crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of work.
- Interpret piping drawings, P&IDs;, isometrics, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all piping works meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, including mechanical, structural, electrical, and commissioning teams.
- Monitor daily progress, manpower, materials, and construction schedules.
- Oversee piping inspections, pressure testing, flushing, and system handover.
- Identify and resolve construction issues, technical queries, and site constraints.
- Conduct toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety inspections.
- Maintain daily reports and ensure compliance with Western Australian mining site requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role,
you will have:
- Proven experience as a Piping Supervisor, Piping Superintendent, Mechanical Supervisor, or similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, piping isometrics, GA drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE/PE, GRE/GRP or other project-specific piping materials.
- Experience with piping supports, valves, flanges, pressure testing, hydrotesting, flushing, and mechanical completion.
- Strong understanding of construction quality requirements and inspection processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Pipefitting, Fabrication, or equivalent.
- Passed S26 examination and certified with relevant modules.
- Current White Card.
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space certification desirable.
- Current First Aid certification desirable.
- Relevant High Risk Work Licences where required.
- Current Australian driver's licence desirable/required depending on site requirements.
- Ability to satisfy project-specific medical, drug & alcohol, and site induction requirements.
