We are seeking an experienced Sobering Up Shelter Coordinator in Nhulunbuy to oversee supervision, administration, and reporting for SUS Care Workers. The role also works closely with the Community Night Patrol Coordinator – Gove Peninsula to support client processing and ensure client safety in line with legislative requirements.

What you’ll do:

- Supervise and guide SUS Care Workers to ensure consistent, compassionate, and non‑judgmental care for clients.
- Coordinate with Community Night Patrol to support client entry, management, and referral processes.
- Complete daily reporting and assist team members to submit timely, accurate data and statistics.
- Engage in community events with Community Night Patrol to raise service awareness and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Support at‑risk and vulnerable individuals in collaboration with Community Night Patrol to help reduce interactions with the criminal justice system.
- Provide administrative support including staff rosters, timesheets, statistical reporting, and onboarding of new team members.
- Coordinate training to ensure the team delivers effective and compliant care.
- Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements, promoting a safe working environment.
- Undertake other duties consistent directed by the Regional Manager - Council Services.

What we’re looking for:

- Certificate I or higher in Community Services (Alcohol and Other Drugs), or equivalent experience,



with willingness to undertake further training.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and experience working with Aboriginal people in community services or SUS settings.
- Knowledge of alcohol‑related harm, violence issues, and commitment to Aboriginal self‑determination.
- Effective planning and time management with ability to manage competing priorities and provide practical administrative and financial support.
- Strong communication skills including conflict resolution and mediation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team with proven people skills.
- High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems (e.g., accounts receivable/rate debtor).
- C Class driver’s licence.

What you’ll receive:

- A competitive salary ($88,036.88 - $93,398.34 per year, excluding super), with annual reviews under the Enterprise Agreement
- 6 weeks of annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
