Events and Engagement Officer
Part-Time (0.6 FTE) | Windsor, Brisbane | SCHADS Level 4

Karuna is seeking an Events and Engagement Officer to coordinate a diverse program of internal and external events while providing practical support across fundraising, marketing and community engagement activities.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys managing the details, building positive relationships and contributing wherever support is needed. You will work within our Brand and Engagement team while collaborating with colleagues, volunteers, donors, carers, community groups, suppliers and other stakeholders across Karuna.

About the Role
Reporting to the Brand and Engagement Manager, the Events and Engagement Officer supports the delivery of Karuna’s events, fundraising and marketing activities.

You will coordinate a range of internal and community-facing events, assist with fundraising and marketing administration, support engagement initiatives and help ensure events are welcoming, professionally delivered and aligned with Karuna’s purpose and values.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate internal and external stakeholder events,



including community awareness, education, donor, volunteer and engagement activities.

- Manage event logistics, including venue and supplier bookings, catering, equipment, registrations, event plans and run sheets.

- Coordinate volunteers supporting events and community activities.

- Support activities across Karuna’s locations and communities.

- Provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns and appeals.

- Communicate with community fundraisers, donors and supporters.

- Assist with donor acknowledgements and stewardship activities.

- Maintain accurate donor and stakeholder information within Karuna’s CRM and digital systems.

- Support the Brand and Engagement team across events, fundraising, marketing, communications, brand and media activities.

About You
You are someone who is organised, adaptable and comfortable moving between event coordination, fundraising, stakeholder communication and detailed administrative work, while being part of a small, cooperative team.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in event coordination, administration and community engagement.

- Experience supporting or coordinating fundraising, donor or community events.

- An understanding of fundraising and marketing principles and supporter stewardship.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills,



with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, suppliers and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, databases and CRM systems.

- High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent organisational, administrative, and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail, including systems and process-oriented skills.

- Advanced IT literacy, with the ability to engage with a range of digital tools.

- Willingness to work out of office hours when required

- Travel to external venues and locations.

- Possession of a current Class C Queensland Driver's License.

Desirable

- Experience in a not-for-profit, healthcare or community services environment.

- Experience working with volunteers.

- Knowledge of palliative care, grief support, community services or the charitable sector.
