Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club features two championship golf courses, world-class facilities, and a professional team committed to delivering an exceptional member and guest experience. As we enter an exciting phase of continued growth, development and investment, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious turf skilled to join our Golf Course Maintenance team as Course Manager.
This newly created position presents an opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development of The Pines and The Palms, whilst helping shape the future structure, performance and capability of the maintenance department.
The Role
The Course Manager will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Course Managers to coordinate maintenance operations, support strategic planning and ensure consistently high standards across both golf courses.
The role will provide leadership across daily operations while contributing to long-term agronomic planning, course improvement projects, staff development and the delivery of major golfing events.
This position has been established to strengthen the Club’s leadership structure and provide the capacity required to support future growth, increasing operational demands and the continued evolution of the property.
As the Club continues to grow, the role will provide scope for increased responsibility, broader involvement in strategic planning and further contribution to the direction of the Golf Course Maintenance department.
This is an opportunity for the right person to establish themselves in an important recent position and help influence how the department operates and develops in the years ahead.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Golf Course Superintendent in the management of The Pines and The Palms.
- Assisting with the coordination of daily, weekly and seasonal maintenance programs.
- Providing leadership, direction and support to the Assistant Course Managers and wider maintenance team.
- Maintaining high standards of turf health, course presentation and playing conditions.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of renovations, drainage works, infrastructure upgrades and course improvement projects.
- Contributing to agronomic programs, resource planning and the ongoing improvement of maintenance practices.
- Assisting with staff training, development, performance management and team engagement.
- Supporting the preparation of both courses for Club events, tournaments and major golfing occasions.
- Promoting a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Assisting with budgeting, equipment planning, contractor coordination and future operational requirements.
- Working collaboratively with Golf Operations, Club departments, consultants, contractors and industry partners.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and capable turf professional who is ready to take on a broader leadership role within a progressive golf course environment.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Relevant qualifications in turf management,
horticulture or golf course management.
- Strong practical knowledge of golf course maintenance and turf agronomy.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- The ability to coordinate people, equipment and resources effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and operational decision-making.
- A strong commitment to presentation standards, workplace safety and team development.
- The ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of key responsibilities.
- A genuine interest in innovation, professional development and modern course management practices.
- The ambition to grow with the position as the Club continues to develop.
