JRS Group are looking for an Industrial Spray Painter to join our team on a full-time position basis at our facility in the Wellcamp Business Park. This role is a Monday to Friday roster with 7:00am starts, an early finish every Friday and overtime payable. The hourly rate is $38 - $45, depending on experience.

Working across mining, energy, agriculture and defence projects, and working closely with our fabrication team, you’ll apply protective coating systems to a variety of fabricated steel projects.

JRS is also preparing to expand its coatings capability to support upcoming defence and aerospace manufacturing, requiring controlled processes, traceability and exacting quality standards. The person joining us now will have the opportunity to develop alongside the capability and contribute as our equipment, systems and team continue to evolve. For the right person, this creates genuine potential to develop into a high-specification coatings specialist or an opportunity to help lead the evolution of our coatings facility.

In this role, you’ll:

- Apply industrial protective coating systems using conventional spray equipment.

- Mix coatings and monitor environmental conditions to ensure specification compliance.

- Complete quality inspections, including surface profile and wet and dry film thickness measurements.

- Interpret customer specifications, product data sheets and documented procedures.

- Operate, clean and maintain equipment.

- Maintain a secure, clean and organised blast and paint facility.

- Work closely with fabrication and production teams to deliver projects on schedule.





- Contribute to the continuous improvement of coating processes and workshop standards.

Experience working with heavy industrial, mining or defence products will be highly regarded.
