We're looking for a hands-on Manager to lead WMTC's day-to-day operations and drive its next stage of growth. Reporting to the CEO, you'll take full ownership of the Centre — its compliance, its people, its students and its commercial performance. This is a rare opportunity to run a maritime RTO in a location where the classroom is the water.
Key responsibilities
- Hold overall responsibility for WMTC's operations, including leading RTO compliance under the Standards for RTOs, maintaining ASQA registration, and managing AVETMISS reporting and audit readiness
- Coordinate course delivery across AMSA-accredited and nationally recognised maritime qualifications
- Manage trainers, assessors and administrative staff, including recruitment, scheduling and career development
- Oversee student enrolment, progression and outcomes, and the student experience end to end
- Grow enrolments and revenue through course scheduling, partnerships and marketing
- Manage budgets, resourcing and reporting to the CEO and Board
- Maintain currency with ASQA, AMSA and VET sector regulatory change
About you
- Experience managing or coordinating within a Registered Training Organisation, ideally in the maritime, marine or a related technical sector
- Sound working knowledge of the Standards for RTOs, AVETMISS reporting and ASQA compliance obligations
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a small, capable team
- Commercial acumen — the ability to grow a training business while keeping compliance watertight
- Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Maritime qualifications or industry experience highly regarded
