Investment & Corporate Development Associate - Melbourne
Platinum Pacific Partners are partnering with a global, institutional real estate investment manager to appoint an Investment & Corporate Development Associate into its growing Australian real estate living platform.
The Opportunity
As an Investment & Corporate Development Associate, you will work closely with senior management and the broader investment team across the full investment lifecycle, from evaluating and acquiring new opportunities through to development, asset management, financing and portfolio strategy.
The role offers broad exposure across both investment and corporate development, with genuine responsibility for financial analysis, modelling, transaction execution, investment performance and strategic initiatives within a growing operating platform.
The role will be involved across:
Acquisitions and transaction execution across the living sectors
Development opportunities and detailed investment feasibilities
Platform and corporate strategy
Asset management and value creation initiatives
Debt structuring and financing
Portfolio valuation and investment performance
Market and industry research
Strategic and special projects
Key Responsibilities
Build detailed financial models covering development feasibilities, operations, debt, tax, valuation and sensitivities
Support the evaluation, due diligence and execution of acquisitions and dispositions
Own quarterly reforecasting and budget variance analysis against investment committee underwriting assumptions
Identify and execute value-add and asset management initiatives across the platform
Assist with structuring debt facilities and managing banking relationships
Coordinate periodic independent portfolio valuations
Prepare high-quality materials for Boards, investment committees, internal stakeholders and third-party investors
Conduct market, industry and company research to inform investment and corporate strategy
Assess transaction and business risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
Work closely with senior management, investment professionals and external stakeholders across a range of strategic initiatives
About You
3 - 8 years' experience in investment banking, private equity, real assets funds management, corporate finance or a related financial field
Strong financial modelling and investment analysis capability
Deep operational and investment understanding of real estate asset classes such as PBSA, BTR, Senior Living or Hotels
Strong technical understanding of feasibility analysis, financial statements and valuation methodologies including DCF, IRR, capitalisation rates, multiples and yield-on-cost
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Strong commercial judgement and exceptional attention to detail
Proactive and comfortable taking ownership within a small, high-performance team
Robust interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across investment, operational and external stakeholders
Relevant degree in finance, accounting, economics, law or a related field
