Job Description
Join a growing team working across M&A;, private capital and funds.
Funds experience isn't essential.
Growth opportunity
sophisticated M&A;, private capital, funds and investment transactions
2-5 PAE
A unique opportunity for a corporate lawyer looking for something a little different.
I'm working on a role with a highly regarded international firm that is growing its corporate practice in Sydney.
The role sits within a specialist team working across Corporate M&A;, private capital, funds and investment structures, advising a mix of major corporates, institutional investors, fund managers and private capital clients.
And importantly, you don't need to be a Corporate Funds lawyer to be considered.
The team is particularly interested in lawyers with a strong core M&A; skillset who are keen to develop their experience in funds, private capital and structured investments.
The Role
You'll have exposure to a genuinely broad mix of transactions, including:
Corporate and asset-level M&A;
Private capital transactions
Fund and investment vehicle structuring
Joint ventures, consortiums and club arrangements
Platform acquisitions and disposals
Investment management and governance matters
You'll be involved across the transaction lifecycle from structuring and due diligence through to drafting, negotiation and completion with plenty of direct exposure to senior lawyers and clients.
What they're looking for
This would suit a lawyer with around 2-5 years' PAE who has built a solid foundation in corporate/M&A; and wants to continue developing technically and commercially.
You don't need to tick every box.
In particular, direct corporate funds experience isn't essential.
They're looking for someone who is:
Strong technically, particularly across corporate transactions
Commercial and pragmatic
Confident drafting and negotiating
Comfortable working with sophisticated clients
Curious and keen to learn
A genuinely good team player
It's a growth role within a relatively lean team, so you'll get meaningful exposure rather than being lost in a large corporate group.
The work is sophisticated, the clients are excellent and there's a real opportunity to develop a niche across M&A;, funds and private capital without having to completely step away from your corporate skillset.
If you're a corporate lawyer who has been wondering whether there might be something a little more compelling out there, this one is worth a chat.
