University Theatres manages a diverse range of performance venues across the University of Western Australia, hosting skilled productions, festivals, community performances, school events and University activities.

The team are seeking friendly, reliable and customer-focused people to join our casual Front of House team.

As part of our Front of House team, you will help create a welcoming, protected and enjoyable experience for every patron. Depending on your experience, training and the requirements of each performance, you may be rostered across ushering, door, or bar duties.

About the role

Your duties may include:
Welcoming patrons and assisting them to find their seats,
Checking and scanning tickets and managing patron entry and re-entry,
Assisting patrons with accessibility requirements,
Managing latecomers and performance lockout periods,
Monitoring the auditorium and responding to patron enquiries,
Setting up, operating and closing venue bars including barista duties,
Processing point-of-sale and EFTPOS transactions,
Selling and reconciling merchandise,
Supporting interval, pre and post-show operations,
Following venue, liquor licensing, emergency and workplace health and safety procedures, and
Reporting incidents or operational concerns to the Front of House Manager.





About you

We are looking for people who:
Have customer service experience, ideally within entertainment, events, hospitality or another public-facing environment,
Communicate confidently and professionally with a diverse range of patrons,
Remain calm and use good judgement when responding to questions, complaints or unexpected situations,
Are reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions,
Enjoy working cooperatively as part of a team,
Are comfortable learning point-of-sale, ticketing and other electronic systems, and
Can work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
