Port Melbourne

We are aquaBUBBLER. We have been making drinking fountains in Port Melbourne for twenty years, they are Australian Made, and the first ones we built are still running. We are a small team and we are growing, and we are looking for one valuable person to build them with us.

This is a hands-on job. You will be at the bench most days, building fountains from the ground up, boxing them and getting them out the door. It is not a supervisory role and it is not an office role.

It is a job with somewhere to go, and we would rather say that up front than have you find out later. The person who learns to build every product we make becomes the second in charge of the factory. We have written the path down: the range you can build on your own at three, six and twelve months, what changes at each step, and the pay review that comes with it. Hit those and the job grows around you.

You will learn on real work from day one, taught by our Production Manager, who has been doing this for years and knows every unit we make.

What we are after matters more than where you have worked. You need to be genuinely good with your hands, able to read a drawing, meticulous about quality, and quick to pick up a current build.

Comfortable on a computer, because everything we make is recorded as we go. Reliable, because a small team feels it when someone does not turn up. And after a job you can settle into, because we are not looking for a stopgap.

A mechanical or fabrication trade, plumbing or metal workshop experience, or a forklift ticket all help, but none of them are essential if the aptitude is there.

One thing to know before you apply. We plan to move the factory to the Pakenham area, most likely within the next two to three years. This role moves with it. If that commute would not work for you, this is not the right job, and it is better we both know now.

The role is permanent full time, 38 hours, Monday to Friday, starting at 7.30am. $34 to $38 per hour depending on experience, plus 12% superannuation, with paid annual leave and sick leave, and a review at twelve months. Clean factory, positive gear, no weekends.

To apply, send your CV and a short note about the most complicated thing you have ever built or assembled. That last part tells us more than a resume does.
