About the role

You will be working on powerline vegetation clearing and maintenance across the SA Power Networks (SAPN) electricity distribution network. Your role will primarily involve operating an EWP (Elevated Work Platform) and wood chipper, while assisting with vegetation management around powerlines and SAPN infrastructure to ensure required clearances are maintained and the network remains protected and reliable.

Key responsibilities
Powerline vegetation clearing and maintenance
Clearing and maintaining vegetation around SAPN infrastructure
Operating and working from an EWP
Operating and feeding a wood chipper
Ground work and assisting tree crews
Cutting, lowering and handling branches and timber
Maintaining required vegetation clearances around powerlines
Site clean-up
Daily equipment and machinery checks
Following strict safety procedures when working around electrical infrastructure

About you

Takes safety seriously, particularly when working around powerlines
Can follow instructions and work independently when required
Willing and able to travel for away work (up to 2 weeks at a time in regional areas)




Keen to learn and develop within the industry
Current driver's licence
Line Clearance / Powerline Vegetation Management qualifications, High Risk Work Licence – EWP over 11 metres, First Aid & CPR, relevant chainsaw/tree industry competencies, and White Card are relevant to the role

We are a growing tree services crew contracting to Active Tree Services, carrying out vegetation management across the SA Power Networks (SAPN) electricity distribution network. Our work primarily involves clearing and maintaining vegetation around powerlines and SAPN infrastructure, ensuring required clearances are maintained and the network remains secure and reliable. We currently have a crew of 5 employees.
