About the role

Builders Trading Cooperative is seeking a hands-on Yard Supervisor to lead site operations in Fyshwick. You will manage the yard team, keep daily dispatches running on schedule, and ensure local builder members receive accurate, on-time orders every time.

Key responsibilities
Oversee daily yard workflow, stock staging, loading, and dispatch operations
Lead, mentor, and schedule yard hands and forklift operators to maintain high morale and output
Move, load, and position heavy vehicles (MR/HR trucks) in and around the yard safely
Manage inventory control, receiving procedures, timber inspection, and stock count accuracy
Enforce strict WHS compliance, traffic management, and load restraint standards (Chain of Responsibility)




Coordinate directly with customer service and transport drivers to resolve bottlenecks rapid

About you
Essential: Current Heavy Vehicle Licence (MR or HR required) for positioning trucks in the yard.
Essential: Valid High-Risk Forklift Licence (LF) with solid operational experience.
Proven leadership experience as a Yard Supervisor, Warehouse Leading Hand, or Logistics Team Leader.
Background in building materials, timber, or trade hardware (highly regarded, but transferable trade/logistics leadership welcomed).
Robust understanding of WHS standards and safe load restraint (Chain of Responsibility).
Sound computer literacy and experience working with inventory management systems / ERPs.
