Telecommunications / Fibre Optic Technician We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications / Fibre Optic Technician to join our team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, commissioning, fault finding and restoration of fibre optic telecommunications networks across various project sites.

Key responsibilities
Install, maintain and repair fibre optic telecommunications networks.
Perform FTTH, GPON and fibre backbone installation and maintenance.
Carry out fibre optic cable preparation, fusion splicing and jointing.
Install and maintain ODC, ODP, OTP, closures and associated fibre infrastructure.
Perform OTDR, optical power and fibre testing to identify and troubleshoot faults.
Conduct fault finding, restoration and emergency repairs.
Work across OSP and ISP environments, including aerial, underground and site-based works.
Read and follow network plans, technical documentation and work instructions.
Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
Travel to different project sites as required.

Requirements




Proven experience in telecommunications or fibre optic installation and maintenance.
Solid practical knowledge of fibre optic networks and fault finding.
Experience with fusion splicing and fibre testing equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Australian experience is desirable but not essential.
