Following training and competency assessment, you will independently provide high-quality respiratory diagnostic testing at our Bunbury clinic, supported by our broader physician-led clinical and diagnostics team.
Key responsibilities
Performing comprehensive respiratory function testing
Preparing, instructing and supporting patients throughout testing
Ensuring test quality, accuracy and repeatability
Equipment calibration, cleaning, maintenance and quality control
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
Supporting protected and effective clinic operations
About you
A qualification in respiratory science, physiology, exercise physiology, biomedical science or a related field
Previous lung-function testing experience, although this is not essential
Solid attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reproducible testing
Excellent patient communication and coaching skills
The confidence and reliability to work independently once trained
Sound clinical judgement and a robust commitment to patient safety
Valuable organisational, documentation and time-management skills
A willingness to learn and complete our internal certification pathway
About us
Western Respiratory & Sleep is seeking a Respiratory Scientist to join our growing Bunbury respiratory diagnostics service. Training will be provided primarily in Bunbury, with occasional training at our Joondalup clinic. Travel expenses for required Joondalup training will be covered. The successful applicant will complete the WRS Respiratory Diagnostics Academy Certification Program, which combines supervised learning, observed practice and formal competency assessment.
