Role Description The Bus Driver role at Hornibrook Bus Lines is a full time, on-site position based in the Greater Brisbane Area.

The Bus

Driver is responsible for safely operating buses on scheduled routes and charter services, adhering to traffic laws and company safety standards. Daily tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, managing passenger boarding and alighting, handling fares or ticketing systems, and maintaining a clean and orderly bus setting. The role involves providing courteous customer service, answering passenger questions, and supporting accessibility needs.



Bus Drivers are expected to follow timetables, communicate effectively with the operations team, and report incidents, delays, or maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications
Strong bus and truck driving skills, with experience operating large vehicles safely and efficiently.
Proficiency in defensive driving techniques and adherence to road safety regulations.
Background in driver training or willingness to participate in company-provided training programs.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse passengers.
Valid commercial or heavy vehicle driver’s license appropriate for bus operations in the Greater Brisbane Area.
Clean driving record and ability to meet any required medical, background, and licensing checks.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills, and comfort using on-board ticketing or GPS systems.
