Location: Campbell Park Offices, Canberra, ACT
Position Description The SHFC Program is responsible for provision of the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS). Capability is provided through Sustainment under CJC10 and enhancement under the JNT9101PH1 Project.
The Communications Technician provides advanced technical and skilled support across the CJC10 Product, applying broad communications engineering and maintenance knowledge to complex technical and maintenance activities, sustainment outcomes and capability enhancement.
Responsibilities
Execute complex communications technical and maintenance assurance activities.
Exercise assigned technical authorities.
Ensure technical regulatory compliance.
Develop, review and assess technical packages, reports and product performance.
Identify technical risks and uncertainties and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement.
Provide technical and maintenance advice to the CJC10 SO1 Engineering Manager and CJC10 ILS Lead L3.
Build relationships with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and suppliers.
Support workforce development through mentoring and technical guidance.
Ensure safety is incorporated into technical activities.
Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, products and equipment.
All other tasks as directed.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant higher education or vocational qualifications in communications engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Solid oral and written communication.
Ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
Solid problem-solving, risk-management and stakeholder-engagement skills.
Defence sustainment and technical assurance experience.
ASDEFCON Suite experience.
