Looking to build a career in property maintenance? Our company is seeking a Handyman Assistant to work alongside our qualified Handyman. You'll learn on the job, but should already have some familiarity with basic maintenance and repair tasks.
ABN work, paid hourly including travel between jobs,(not per job) — starting at $40/hour.
Variety of Tasks: No two days are the same! You'll work alongside our qualified handyman across a range of maintenance, repair, painting, carpet-laying, and light gardening projects, building your skills as you go.
Responsibilities: (remember you will be with a trained qualified)
Support general maintenance and repairs across our managed properties, working closely with our lead handyman.
Assist with painting and carpet laying/replacement.
Perform light gardening and grass/lawn cutting at managed properties.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants and property managers.
Assist with installing, repairing, or replacing fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
Help ensure properties are well-maintained, protected, and presentable.




Keep clear and accurate documentation of work completed.
Progressively take on more independent tasks as your skills develop.
Requirements:
Some prior experience or familiarity with basic maintenance/repair tasks required (painting, flooring, or gardening experience a plus).
Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an ABN.
Willingness to learn additional repair techniques, tools, and basic building codes.
Valuable problem-solving instincts and attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
Friendly communication and customer service manner.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
