Taste of North India is a busy Indian restaurant serving delicious, wholesome food that has been passed down through generations. They are currently seeking a full time Chef for their busy restaurant located in Coffs Harbour. Your duties will include:

Duties
n
n
Responsible for the preparation of dishes from the tandoor, including naan bread, chaps, and marinated meats as per the menu and
n
Recruit, Train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices in tandoori cooking techniques.
n
Effectively deal with and rectify the issues for the smooth operations of the
n
Monitor stock levels of tandoori ingredients and order high-quality raw materials to avoid
n
Providing instructions to kitchen staff regarding the proper way of handling cooking equipment and demonstrating different cooking
n
Create prep lists for kitchen
n




Ensure proper storage of tandoori ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and
n
Maintain high standards of food hygiene in accordance with regulatory
n
Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work
n
Preparing, cooking and presenting food in accordance with restaurant standards
n
Cook Tandoori Dishes on the menu following recipes
n
Ensuring the seasoning marination and garnishing of tandoori dishes are done appropriately as well as ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant
n
Allocate and oversee the work of the junior kitchen staff team including cleaning schedules.

Applicant Must Have
n
n
Completed a Diploma in Hospitality Management and should have at least 1 year of full-time work experience in a similar position. Work experience in using Tandoor oven and cooking tandoori pastes and curries from scratch will be preferred.
n
Annual Salary (depending on experience/skills) between $79,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation.
