About The Role
We are looking for a Playground Inspector & Maintenance team member to undertake routine and operational playground inspections while completing preventative maintenance across council playgrounds and open spaces in the Yarra and Stonnington areas.
Responsibilities
Undertake routine visual and operational playground inspections in accordance with required inspection frequencies and relevant standards.
Conduct visual inspections to identify litter, broken glass, sharp edges, vandalism, surface hazards and other potential safety concerns.
Complete operational inspections of moving components, structural wear, loose fixings and playground surfacing.
Inspect and maintain soft fall areas, including checking appropriate surfacing depths and identifying areas requiring attention.
Identify and address gaps, cracks and damage to rubber wet-pour and playground tiles.
Undertake minor playground maintenance including tightening fixings, lubricating chains and bearings, removing rust and sanding splintered timber.
Identify hazards and take appropriate action to repair, isolate or make unsafe areas secure in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records and escalation significant defects where required.
Follow all WHS procedures and safe work practices when working within public spaces.
