The Opportunity
n
We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Engineer to join our team at our Camberwell site, playing an important role in keeping our operation running safely, efficiently and reliably.
n
Working within our Engineering team, you'll support the performance and reliability of our site, machinery and equipment through planned and preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault-finding and remedial engineering works.
n
This is a wide-ranging engineering role within a fast-paced operational environment where your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills can make a genuine difference. You'll work closely with our operational teams to minimise downtime, improve equipment performance and help keep our site moving.
n

Your Responsibilities Will Include
n
n
Keeping our operation moving - Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across site machinery, equipment and infrastructure to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.
n
Fault-finding and problem-solving - Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, identify root causes and implement effective repairs and solutions safely and efficiently.
n
Maintaining our assets - Help ensure our equipment and site infrastructure are maintained to a high standard and operating as efficiently as possible.
n
Improving performance - Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and overall site performance.
n
Working with Operations - Build strong relationships with Production and other site teams, responding to engineering requirements and communicating effectively when issues arise.
n
Putting safety first - Ensure engineering activities are carried out in line with site Health & Safety requirements, safe systems of work and relevant engineering standards.
n
Maintaining high standards - Complete inspections, PPM records and engineering documentation accurately using our CMMS system.
n
Supporting improvement projects - Contribute to equipment upgrades, remedial works and wider engineering projects that improve the operation for the future.

What We're Looking For
n
We're looking for a practical Engineer who enjoys getting to the root of a problem and working in a busy operational environment.
n
You'll Ideally Bring
n
n
Engineering experience - Around 3 years' experience within a manufacturing, production or process-driven environment.
n
Multi-skilled capability - Strong practical mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
n
Technical knowledge - Experience working with areas such as electrical circuits, pneumatics and hydraulics.
n
Fault-finding expertise - A logical and methodical approach to diagnosing problems, with the ability to interpret relevant engineering drawings and schematics.
n
A proactive approach - Self-motivated, comfortable making decisions and able to react quickly to operational requirements.
n
A safety-first mindset - An understanding of safe engineering practices and the importance of identifying and communicating potential risks.
n
Robust communication and teamwork - The ability to build effective working relationships with Engineering, Production and colleagues across the wider site.
n
Attention to detail - Comfortable maintaining accurate PPM and maintenance records using a CMMS system.
n
Flexibility - Willingness to occasionally travel to other Elis locations or external training facilities when required.

Great to Have
n
You don't need to tick every box. Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be an advantage:
n
n
Engineering NVQ Level 3 or 4, BTEC, City & Guilds, HND or equivalent
n
An apprentice-trained engineering background
n
Industrial laundry or another high-volume production environment
n
Steam systems and chemical water treatment, including BG01 or BOAS accreditation
n
Water networks and heat recovery systems
n
Electronic component fault-finding and testing
n
BS **** IET Wiring Regulations
n
Inspection and Testing - City & Guilds *******
n
Fabrication and welding
n
Permit to Work (PTW), risk assessment and contractor control
n
Legionella control and ACOP L8
n
Small to medium-sized engineering projects, Six Sigma or CAPEX experience
n
IOSH Managing Safely
n
n

We offer a competitive salary of between £45,000 and £47,000 depending on experience and the opportunity to work for a company that offers many development opportunities, has national structure to facilitate ambition and offer a friendly and supportive working environment.

Working Pattern: Shift Patten 10am to 6pm dayshift 6pm to 2am evening shift 1 Saturday working per month. total working week 45hours
