VanHomes designs and builds relocatable homes at our manufacturing facility in Berkeley Vale on the Central Coast. We’re family owned and growing nationally, with a team that runs from the factory floor through design, sales and the office.

The role

We’re looking for an HR Advisor to look after our people. This is the only HR role in the business. You’ll report directly to our CEO and be the first call for managers, supervisors and employees on anything people related.

It’s a hands-on generalist role across the full employee lifecycle. One day you’ll be running a recruitment campaign. The next you’ll be coaching a supervisor through a performance conversation or working through an award question on the factory floor.

What you’ll do

• Advise managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance and conflict

• Manage performance and misconduct investigations, and coach leaders through them

• Run recruitment from job ad through to offer

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including exit interviews

• Keep us compliant with the Fair Work Act, the National Employment Standards and our contemporary awards

• Maintain accurate HR records and make sure payroll inputs are right





• Develop and update HR policies and procedures

• Lead engagement surveys and wellbeing programs, working alongside our WHS team

• Coordinate training and development across the business

• Report to the CEO on recruitment, retention and engagement

What you’ll bring

• 2 to 3 years in a generalist HR role

• Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and the National Employment Standards

• Experience applying modern awards, ideally with a blue collar or manufacturing workforce

• Hands-on experience managing employee relations matters yourself

• Confidence working on your own, and positive judgement about when to escalate

• Explicit, down-to-earth communication with people at every level of the business

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• A tertiary qualification in HR or a related field is desirable
