Senior AI Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain machine learning and generative AI models in production. Working within a contemporary, cloud-native workplace, you will take models from experimentation through to reliable, scalable deployment on Azure AI, playing a central role in how the organisation builds and operates AI-driven capability.

Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain AI and machine learning models in Azure AI, ensuring reliable performance in live production settings.
Own the full model lifecycle, including monitoring, retraining, versioning, and performance tuning, to maintain accuracy and reliability over time.
Establish observability, logging, and evaluation frameworks to track model performance, detect issues early, and support auditability.
Integrate AI models and services with enterprise data platforms and internal systems via APIs, ensuring solutions align with data governance and security standards.
Apply responsible AI principles, including explainability, fairness, and accountability, across all model design and deployment work.
Contribute to internal standards, documentation,



and reusable patterns for model deployment and MLOps practices.

Key Skills
Proven experience deploying and maintaining AI or machine learning models in Azure AI (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Services) in production environments.
Strong programming ability in Python.
Solid grounding in MLOps practices, including CI/CD, model monitoring, versioning, and automated testing.
Understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and cybersecurity principles.
Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise data platforms and APIs.
Exposure to low-code automation or orchestration tools (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform, RPA) is advantageous.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required.
Financial services experience is a bonus
