Deliver vital financial management and governance expertise that directly supports strategic Commonwealth decision-making and project affordability across high-tempo projects.
What's on Offer
Contract/Engagement: Full-time contract starting ASAP until August 2027 extension options.
Rate/Salary: Competitive Market Rate.

Role &
Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end financial management, budget oversight, forecasting, commitment tracking, and reporting to ensure robust project governance.
Manage and maintain accurate project financial records, tracking expenditure, commitments, purchase orders, and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor financial performance against approved budgets and funding allocations to support Commonwealth affordability management.
Partner with Cost Modellers to identify emerging financial pressures or opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
Brief and influence senior executives,
delivering transparent financial advice to support key project delivery outcomes.
Skills &
Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
Technical Toolkit: Advanced Excel skills (modelling, pivot tables, and scenario analysis) with the capability to integrate cost estimation, work breakdown structures, and procurement profiles into financial activities.
Experience: Proven track record in Federal Government financial management, ideally within complex ICT acquisition or sustainment project environments.
Core Capabilities: Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief senior executive stakeholders, navigate dynamic high-tempo environments, and contribute proactively to high-performing teams.
