About the role

D&B; is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team supporting a heavy transport operation in Wyndham in WA's Kimberley. The role involves working with a fleet of 10 trucks including Kenworth, Mack and Mercedes-Benz heavy trucks, side tippers, trailers and various heavy equipment. You will be a capable, hands-on and experienced mechanic who enjoys variety, can think on their feet and is comfortable taking ownership of a workshop and leading a small team.

Key responsibilities
Servicing, maintenance and repairs
Diagnostics and fault finding
Breakdown and field repairs
Preventative maintenance
Heavy vehicle and trailer repairs
Working with Cummins and CAT engines
Electrical, air and hydraulic fault finding
Planning and prioritising workshop repairs
Leading and supporting a small workshop team
Keeping the fleet secure, reliable and on the road

About you
Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanical trade qualification




Solid heavy truck and transport experience
Good knowledge of Cummins and CAT engines
Experience with Mercedes-Benz trucks highly regarded
Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Heavy vehicle licence highly regarded
Ability to work safely in hot and remote conditions
Good organisational and communication skills
Ability to lead a small team
