Camden Search is partnering with a well-established Victorian Government statutory authority to recruit an experienced payroll skilled to lead the delivery, governance and continuous improvement of their payroll function. This is a hands-on leadership role for a payroll professional who wants to build scalable processes and drive genuine improvement within a growing public sector organisation. About the role

Reporting to the CFO, you'll be the organisation's payroll subject matter expert — owning end-to-end payroll operations, enterprise agreement interpretation, statutory compliance and payroll systems administration, while leading and developing a small payroll team.

Key responsibilities
Lead end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely processing
Own payroll governance, compliance, taxation, superannuation and audit readiness
Interpret and administer the Enterprise Agreement, translating industrial requirements into payroll processes and controls
Lead payroll system upgrades, configuration, reporting and data analytics




Partner with Finance and IT on system and digital transformation projects
Provide expert payroll advice to managers and staff, resolving complex payroll matters
Lead, coach and develop the payroll team

What you'll bring
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll, including governance, compliance, taxation, superannuation and audit
Proven experience interpreting and administering Enterprise Agreements
Solid payroll systems, reporting and data analytics experience
A track record of leading process improvement or system transformation initiatives
Solid stakeholder management, problem-solving and team leadership skills
Tertiary qualification in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or Business (desirable)
Experience with TechnologyOne payroll highly desirable
Victorian public sector or similarly regulated environment experience highly desirable
