The Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager North, you will provide vital underwriting support to the Brisbane team, helping to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio while delivering exceptional service to our broker partners.
You will support the underwriting team through endorsements, extensions, policy administration and broker service activities, while assisting with phone management and day-to-day operational support across the branch.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process endorsements and policy extensions
Review scheme new business and renewal documentation
Provide underwriting support in line with delegated authority levels
Respond to broker enquiries in a timely and professional manner
Assist with the management and distribution of incoming phone calls
Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers and intermediaries
Deliver high-quality customer service and accurate policy administration
Work closely with underwriters and internal stakeholders to support service delivery
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team objectives




Support other facets of the MECON business as required
About You
Minimum 2 years' experience within the insurance industry or a relevant tertiary qualification
Solid administration and organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
A customer-focused approach and willingness to learn
Experience working in an underwriting or insurance administration environment will be highly regarded
Full Australian working rights are required for this position
