Role Description
The Motorcycle Team Mechanic is a full time, in office role based in Cattai, NSW, supporting the preparation and maintenance of team motorcycles for training sessions and race events. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring all bikes meet safety and performance standards. The mechanic will set up motorcycles for specific track and weather conditions, manage spare parts and tools, and keep accurate service records. This role also involves working closely with riders and coaching staff to gather feedback, provide clear communication on mechanical status, and contribute to a safe,
productive pit and workshop workplace. Occasional weekend and event-based work will be required in line with race schedules.
Qualifications
Robust technical skills in vehicle maintenance and hands-on experience with bikes, including diagnostics, repairs, and preventive servicing.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with riders, coaches, and team members and to clearly explain mechanical issues and solutions.
Focus on customer satisfaction and customer service, ensuring riders and stakeholders receive professional, responsive support.
Proficiency in using workshop tools and equipment, with a solid understanding of motorcycle safety standards and compliance.
Relevant vocational training or certification in automotive or motorcycle mechanics; trade qualification is highly regarded.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, prioritize tasks under time pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including weekends and race days, and to support on-site track activities.
Previous experience in motorsport or motorcycle racing environments is an advantage.
