We're currently recruiting for an Analytics Engineer to join a growing data team in Melbourne.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on Snowflake and dbt Cloud, working across data transformation, modelling and the broader analytics environment. You’ll also have exposure to Power BI and play an key role in improving CI/CD and development practices across the team.
Key responsibilities:
Developing and enhancing transformation layers across dbt Cloud and Snowflake
Creating scalable data models that support analytics, reporting and wider business use cases
Reviewing existing data solutions and improving performance, reliability and cost efficiency
Working across the Power BI environment, with exposure to semantic modelling, DAX and Power Query
Improving development and deployment practices through Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD
Investigating data issues and resolving problems across complex datasets
Ensuring data quality and testing are embedded throughout the development lifecycle
Partnering with analysts and business teams to understand requirements and turn them into practical data solutions
Supporting good engineering practices through code reviews, documentation and knowledge sharing
What we’re looking for:
Strong experience working across Snowflake and dbt Cloud
Advanced SQL skills with a robust background in data modelling
Experience building analytics-ready datasets and dimensional models
Good understanding of modern analytics engineering principles and development practices
Experience working with Git, Azure DevOps and automated deployment processes
Exposure to Power BI and the broader reporting layer
A solid focus on data quality, performance and maintainability
Comfortable working with both technical teams and business stakeholders
