About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Officer (AO6) to join a government organisation. In this role, you will undertake activities to support the management of risks associated with abandoned mines.

78.02 per hour (incl casual loading)

Contract

n

Full time, 9-month contract with possible extension | 36.25 hours/week | Mon–Fri

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

n
Support the delivery of abandoned mine projects, including planning, governance, reporting and risk management.
n
Assist with procurement, including scopes of work, specifications and tender documentation.
n
Manage contractors from procurement through to completion, monitoring performance, budgets, schedules and deliverables.
n
Review and update procedures, management plans and technical documentation to support compliance and continuous improvement.
n
Review technical and consultant reports, assessments and data,



providing recommendations to management.
n
Work with internal stakeholders, technical specialists, contractors and government agencies to support project delivery.
n
Conduct site visits and ensure contractors meet WHS requirements and departmental procedures.
n
Prepare project documentation, briefs and reports, with occasional travel to remote sites.

About You

n

n
Degree in project management, engineering, environmental science or a related field (highly regarded).
n
Experience in government, mining, environmental, infrastructure, construction or mine remediation project (desirable).
n
Robust stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
Physically fit and comfortable working in remote locations and challenging terrain.
n
Current open C class driver's licence.
n
