We're seeking anAssistant Accountantto join our Finance team based inMacquarie Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and team-oriented environment.
The Role
Reporting to theFinancial Accountant, you will assist with a broad range of accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, support statutory reporting requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities Include
Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities
Preparing and posting journal entries, accruals and prepayments
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
Supporting external audit requirements and responding to audit queries
Assisting with BAS, FBT and other statutory reporting obligations
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries
Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes
Supporting system upgrades, process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
To Be Successful In This Role You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related discipline
2 to 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role
Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business
