The Senior Assessor Will Be Appointed By The Chief Executive As a Government Assessor Under The Victims Of Crime Assistance Act **** (Section 128). This Position Reports To The Team Leader, Financial Assistance And Will

Perform functions as required under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act ****.
n
Undertake evidence-based decision making in line with legislative intent to provide financial assistance to victims of crime.
n
Provide authoritative advice to administrative officers as required to enable the timely and responsive delivery of services to victims of crime.
n

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act **** and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
n
Undertakes evidence-based decision making in accordance with the Victims of Crime Assistance Act ****.
n
Delivers quality and responsive services to clients through the application of Victim Assist resources, policies,



processes, systems and technologies.
n
Responsible for the case-management of applications for financial assistance, including accurate record-keeping, and providing mentoring as required.
n
Takes responsibility for completion of work and seeks guidance when required.
n
Communicates effectively and creates trusting relationships with a range of stakeholders including other departmental business units and the non-government sector, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of Victim Assist services.
n
Contributes to a high performing team, collaborates with others, displays motivation, and shares and encourages cutting-edge ideas.
n
Identifies and implements ways to continually improve services, though sharing and seeking creative ideas, suggestions and data to inform the effective delivery of services.
n
