We're looking for an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to join our technology delivery team at P8IO Pty. Ltd, supporting a major banking client's enterprise and cloud transformation programs.

About the Role
n
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, compliant, and secure system solutions. This is a hands-on analyst role spanning requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery assurance across microservices and event-driven architecture.

What You'll Do
n

Work with business users and stakeholders to formulate, document, and validate business and system requirements
n
Identify, investigate, and analyse existing business processes, procedures, and system workflows to uncover inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
n
Recommend optimal system functionality, integration approaches, and technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
n
Author comprehensive technical design documentation - including architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and functional specifications - to guide development teams
n
Develop functional specifications and API specifications for use by developers, ensuring consistency and traceability across delivery streams
n
Apply project and delivery methodologies to estimate effort, plan sprints, and manage risks across concurrent workstreams
n
Take ownership of deploying functional solutions end-to-end,



including creating and executing system test plans and technical verification documents to ensure production readiness
n
Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and QA Engineers to validate designs, close integration gaps, and de-risk delivery
n
Conduct code and design reviews to ensure solutions meet engineering standards, performance benchmarks, and maintainability goals
n
Act as a central point of reference for the team, providing guidance during project decision-making and technical escalations
n
Mentor junior team members on best practices, design patterns, and clean delivery approaches
n
Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery velocity
n

What You Bring
n
n
15+ years' experience in systems analysis, design, and delivery within enterprise environments, ideally banking or financial services
n
Strong hands-on background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, Apache Camel)
n
Proven experience authoring technical design documentation and functional specifications for complex, multi-team delivery programs
n
Track record of end-to-end ownership - from requirements through design, testing, and production cutover
n
Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA/Confluence, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
n
Strong mentoring and team leadership capability
n
Cloud certification (e.g. "Google Cloud Skilled Cloud Architect") highly regarded
