Job Description
The Serious Offenders Unit are seeking skilled professionals to fill 1 x permanent and 2 x temporary Advisor positions, whose primary focus is the secure and effective management of high-risk individuals.

Please note that the 2x temporary positions will be primarily responsible for completion of complex Parole Reports. These roles require strong interviewing skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of prisoners and stakeholders to obtain relevant information, provide complex analysis around risks and needs, produce high quality written work, and have a detailed understanding of treatment and intervention to address risk of reoffending and harm.

The Advisor will collate and analyse complex information from a range of sources, write high quality reports and briefings for various audiences, provide comprehensive analysis around factors that influence a person's risks and can articulate strategies to manage and mitigate risks. An Advisor will use these skills to complete a variety of tasks within the Serious Offenders Unit,
depending on the portfolio. The successful applicant will bring a strong commitment to evidence informed decision making, rehabilitation and community safety.

Complex Parole Reports: An Advisor in this portfolio will gather and analyse complex information from a range of sources to develop a clear understanding of a person's offending behaviour, risks, needs, rehabilitation progress, and likelihood of offending. They will consider how these risk factors may contribute to future offending or harm to victims/the community and use this analysis to write complex Parole Reports, designed to provide the Parole Board Queensland with a comprehensive understanding of a prisoner's risks and needs so they can make well informed, evidence-based decisions.

These roles are based in QCS Headquarters however you will be required to attend various correctional centres on a regular basis.
