We are currently seeking experienced Mobile Plant Operators to join a short-term project at West Angelas, working within the MEM Workshop precinct on a range of civil and earthworks activities. This is a great opportunity for operators with strong civil experience who are confident jumping across multiple pieces of mobile plant and working to a high standard on a Rio Tinto site. About the Role You will be involved in a range of earthworks and civil activities, including:

Excavating and digging trenches
n
Clearing and pushing
n
Construction and remediation of windrows
n
Load and haul operations
n
Detailed earthworks and trimming
n
Grading and levelling
n
Backfilling and compacting
n
General MEM Workshop civil works
n
Remediation of existing tracks and windrows
n

The project scope includes works across Padsand existing MEM precinct infrastructure. The scope includes construction of new windrows, drainage, trenching, grading and levelling.

Plant & Equipment Operators are required to operate a range of equipment, including:

140M GPS Grader – Topcon or Leica
n
Hitachi ZQ***** Loader
n
36T Excavator with tilt bucket
n
Padfoot Rollers
n
Smooth Drum Rollers
n
Watercarts
n
Tippers
n
n
Project Details
n
Site: West Angelas – MEM Workshop
n
Pay Rates: Up to $67 per hour
n
Commencement: Project starting mid October
n
Duration: 2 months at this stage
n
Roster: 2/1
n
Paid Hours: 11.5 hours per day
n
Pay Run: Weekly
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
Previous experience operating mobile plant in civil, mining or earthworks environments
n
Relevant RIIMPO machine tickets
n
Ability to confidently operate multiple types of plant
n
Strong understanding of earthworks, levels, trimming and windrow construction
n
Commitment to safe work practices and site procedures
n
Rio Tinto
experience/inductions
highly regarded
n
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
n
n
Due to flights and mobilisation from Perth, we are only able to consider applicants from Perth or close surrounds.
